The Wisconsin Council on Children and Families (WCCF) was established in 1881. As a private, non-profit, non-partisan statewide organization the Council is involved with a wide range of educational and advocacy efforts that improve the outcomes for children and families in areas of health, economic security, safety and education.

Living Wage Calculator

The Living Wage Calculator was first created in 2004 by Dr. Amy K. Glasmeier at MIT. The living wage model is an alternative measure of basic needs. It is a market-based approach that draws upon geographically specific expenditure data related to a family’s likely minimum food, child care, health insurance, housing, transportation, and other basic necessities (e.g. clothing, personal care items, etc.) costs.
