Welcome to the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Website

“The measure of the health of a society is how well it takes care of its youngest generation.” Peter L. Benson

Throughout the years, the purpose of the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Committee has been to help youth make healthy decisions around the use of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and violence.

There are many ways that a community can help youth achieve success in life. One way is by helping youth develop the 40 Developmental Assets that they need in order to succeed. You can find out more about the assets needed and ideas for building them by clicking on Related Links in the side bar and going to the Search Institute web site.

HCHY does have limited funding for alcohol and drug free activities for youth and families to participate in. Click on the Request Funding to find out how to get funds.
