Welcome to the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Website

“The measure of the health of a society is how well it takes care of its youngest generation.” Peter L. Benson

The Healthy Communities Healthy Youth (HCHY) committee is one of the first subcommittees of the Waushara Prevention Council. The focus of the committee throughout the years has been to help youth make healthy decisions, especially around the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, prescription medication and other drugs.

There are many ways that a community can help youth achieve success in life. One way is by helping youth develop the 40 Developmental Assets that they need in order to succeed. You can find out more about the assets needed and ideas for building them by clicking on Related Links in the side bar and going to the Search Institute web site.

HCHY does have limited funding for alcohol and drug free activities for youth and families to participate in. Click on the Request Funding to find out how to get funds.
