RELATIVES AS PARENTS PROGRAM (RAPP)

If you are caring for the child of a relative or knows someone who is, the Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) is there to help.  Waushara County’s RAPP offers educational, supportive and recreational opportunities to relative caregivers and the children entrusted in their care.

The program is free and offers support and activities relative caregivers are most interested in.  The program, provided by the Waushara County Department of Human Services, is funded through a grant from the Brookdale Foundation.

Monthly discussion groups, educational programs, newsletters, recreational activities and support are core services available. Waushara County’s RAPP activities have included a family picnic, presentations regarding guardianship and discipline, and participation in a Caregivers Retreat.  Newsletters are sent out frequently informing families of upcoming meetings and other low cost community activities that the families may wish to participate in.

If you or someone you know is caring for a child of a relative and would be interested in this program please contact Shelley Reetz at 920-787-6550 or shelley.parkstreet@co.waushara.wi.us.
